FIFTY Stars took the Irish Stallion Trail by storm this weekend. Superlative’s such as faultless, impeccable and excellent were all dished around as he proceeded to wow every person that walked through the gates in Sunnyhill. He behaved impeccably well, not putting a foot wrong, for a horse who ran his 32nd race in November and has since made the long trip back home to Ireland. Credit to his constitution but also to the Michael Hickey and his family who are supreme horse people.
He is a beautifully balanced horse with a walk to die for. He has size and scope with a lovely kind, honest eye and a lovely ear. He’s perfectly correct with super strength through his shoulder and hind end. He really presents the full package of what you want in a stallion. So much so that breeders are electing to send him flat mares as well as National Hunt mares. His Australian ownership group headed by Gerry Ryan are already send him a select bunch of flat mares so in any event he is set to have an exciting career under both codes in both hemispheres.
Fifty Stars strikes a pose with Michael Hickey
His book was massively bolstered over the two days with some of the best breeders in the country booking in mares and purchasing breeding rights. If you are a breeder and would like to breed to Fifty Stars please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Far Above The Rest
FAR Above continued to impress breeders and his legion of followers at Starfield Stud over the weekend. He has let down so well and has really ensued full best mode. He is set to cover another very good big book this year with plenty of support from his breeding right holders but also from international breeders. We’re eagerly awaiting his first arrival which is imminent. Safe to say if they look anything like him we’ll be very happy.

Cabaret King Sold Out
As predicted in last weeks SSP The King is in fact now completely sold out. He joins the Westerner filly on the no stock list and our flat counterparts aren’t too far behind them. His sister brought us on a magical journey from a £13k purchase to a Grand National runner. She rose from a mark of 122 to a career high mark of 149, she won two Nationals, ran at two Cheltenham Festivals, two Listowel Festivals, third in a Galway Plate, Listed and Group 3 placed and capped off a phenomenal career by being the first mare home in the 2021 Aintree Grand National.
The Queen before her epic run in the Grand National
Cabaret King was purchased in the exact same sales ring albeit as a 3yo store rather than a HIT meaning we have a full career to hopefully look forward to. He has a great attitude toward his work and is a very well put together horse. He’s an exciting prospect for our NH division so well done to everyone that secured a share.

‘20 Le Havre ex. Sandsnow
A Le Havre filly full to two stakes performers heading in to training with Jessica Harrington is a lofty reputation for any horse to fill but it’s starting to look like this filly is well up to upholding the family tradition. She has been pleasing everyone in Sonny’s yard, she displays a great attitude toward her work and covers the ground beautifully well. Sonny is a big fan and he’s normally on the button.
Le Havre is one of the best sire of fillies in the World headed by the classic winning La Cressonniere and G1 winner Wonderful Tonight who is set to visit Frankel this year. This will be our first horse with Jessica Harrington which we are very much looking forward to. Jessie is a phenomenal trainer and is a real dab hand with well bred fillies like this one. Owner communication is one thing her team focusses heavily on so we are very much looking forward to the journey with this filly.
Massive pedigree where Sottevast is also a winner since the catalogue was printed
There are still shares remaining in this filly so if you’d like to get involved click here. She comes highly recommended and it wont be long before she’s off to Jessies. She is also part of our January Sale Special which we’ve had a great response to. It is great value and if you’d like to get involved in four of our flat horses for a discounted price click here.
