Lady Bear

A fast, precocious, good looking daughter of last years crack FSS Kodi Bear. Lady Bear scored very highly with our team and Johnny Murtagh himself at the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling sale. We thought she represented huge value being out of a mare who was TFR 89p. Halling is the broodmare sire of top class 2yo Vale Of York so we thought it would make a nice cross to provide us with an early 2yo runner.

She has been really pleasing Johnny in her homework and looks like she’ll be our first 2yo runner of the year. She has an entry in the €200,000 Ballyhane Race and has the lucrative Foran series on her radar. Johnny campaigned the Kodi Bear filly Measure Of Magic very successfully last year gaining G2 black type in the Flying Childers.

Invincible Emperor

By one of the most potent sources of speed, precocity and class, Invincible Spirit. He’s the sire of Kingman, Magna Grecia, National Defense amongst a host of other top class 2yo’s and older horses. His dam is the 86 rated winning 2yo Lost In Silence who’s by Holy Roman Emperor the damsire of Newspaperofrecord, Shale and Verbal Dexterity so you could say if there was ever a horse bred to be a 2yo it’s this lad.

He’s been pleasing Ken with his early work and he thinks he’s going to be an early type. He’s strengentened up really well and is an exciting one to go to war with in 2021. Ken had an exceptional year with his 2yo’s last year and we’ll be hoping that this lad can follow suit.

Mise le Meas

A daughter of last years exceptional FSS New Bay. This filly is a half sister to Group 1 winner Nahoodh out of the Inidan Ridge mare Mise. Indian Ridge is the broodmare sire of Nightime, Kingsgate Native, Profitable, Airwave, Halfway To Heaven and a whole plethora of other superstars. Mise has turned into a top class producer herself with four progeny with RPRs of 80+ with three of those rated over 90.

Johnny had great success for us with another daughter of New Bay last year with New Emerald Bay who is aiming for a Guineas Trial and Royal Ascot in 2021. Mise le Meas has been going well at home and will follow a similar path as New Emerald Bay starting off at 6f and progressing up to 7f and beyond. She has also got an entry in the Ballyhane Race and will take aim at the Foran Series and can hopefully follow in the footsteps of her illustrious family members.

Almangara

Almanzor caught the attention of judges across the globe and we were delighted to secure this filly out of the dual G1 winner Angara at Tattersalls Book 1. She is eligible for the famed £20,000 Book 1 Bonus and £10,000 of the GBB Bonus if she wins a race in 2021. She has joined, in our opinion, one of the best trainers out there, Clive Cox.

She has been pleasing Clive in her work to date, she’s not bred to be an early, sharp 2yo so we expect to see her in the middle to end of the season. She progressed well from the sale, through her prep and over to England. It’s a lovely pedigree and a nice physical to hopefully give syndicate members a good thrill in 2021.

Golden Mayflower

The second of out two pronged attack on English shores is Golden Mayflower who is in training with one of Newmarket’s most exciting up-and-coming young trainers Amy Murphy. Amy had a fine strike rate with her 2yo’s last year at 24% and her owner communication is exemplary.

Amy has been delighted with this lady and expects her to be a middle of the summer filly. She is out of the Stakes winning dam Pelerin who is 2/2 as a broodmare with the TFR 111 Premier Power and Pelekai who was 4th in the Listed Marygate Stakes last year. Pelerin is by Shamradal meaning Golden Mayflower is bred on the same cross as Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad. She is fully eligible for the £20,000 GBB Bonus.

New Emerald Bay

The winner of the first flat race at Puncherstown for 18 years we had some fun with this filly last year. She has the potential to be a flag bearer for us on the flat this year with some big targets such as the Group 3 1000 Guineas Trial and Royal Ascot.

Being by New Bay you would expect a natural progression from 2 to 3 and being a 90 rated winning 2yo who knows where she might finish up. She has done well over the winter as she had a couple of hard races in blacktype company last year but Johnny is very happy to have her back and we’re looking toward a big year with New Emerald Bay.

Chitra

One of the most innovative and exciting syndicates to date. Chitra, the winning-most 3yo filly in the UK has been purchased to represent Ireland in this summers Racing League. She will join Joseph O’Brien and will form part of the sprinting division for Team Ireland. She’s a 5f bullet that has won seven times, four of which have come at Racing League tracks. Each Thursday she will have the chance to compete in £50,000 handicaps. 6 weeks, 12 teams, 36 races, 3,600 points and over £2m in prize money up for grabs. A massive initiative.

Chitra will also form the Far Above Club where she will be covered in late April / early May by exciting FSS Far Above. She can race in foal for 120 days and syndicate members will choose to sell her at the end of the season or race progeny on with Joseph O’Brien.

Nós na Gaoithe

She has big boots to fill but we believe that she’s well up to the task. A Yeats half sister to Cheltenham Festival winner Ratvinden from the family of The Big Breakaway, Kildisart and Latest Exhibition she has a beautiful pedigree and the physical to match. She’s a strong, easy moving, good looking filly by a sire who took Cheltenham by storm this year with Mount Ida, Heaven Help Us, Flooring Porter and Chantry House.

She has come along beautifully from the sale through pre-training with Sonny Carey who holds her in high regard. She goes to the maestro Willie Mullins in 2021 and we’re hoping that she can follow in the footsteps of star Syndicates.Racing National Hunt fillies Grangee and Cabaret Queen.

Grangee

What a star our French Princess has been for her syndicate members. A €25,000 purchase from Arqana last February the rumblings were very positive from team Mullins from early on. She bolted up on debut in a Galway bumper in October after which Willie nominated her as a Champion Bumper contender. She then became the first horse to travel to the UK post Brexit when running 3rd in the Listed Mares Bumper at Market Rasen. A trip to Leopardstown for the Dublin Racing Festival in February was next and a game performance saw her take the €100,000 Grade 2 Mares Bumper confirming her place on the boat to Cheltenham where things did not go according to plan but she hit the line full of running to be 6th marking herself out as an exciting filly for the future.

She’ll likely line up in Puncherstown next for the Grade 3 Mares Bumper and she could even plunder a Grade 1 prize on the flat in France before the season is out.

Cabaret Queen

Last but certainly not least is Syndicates.Racing very own Queen. A dual National winner, she has amassed almost €200,000 in prize-money since her purchase for just £13,000 from Doncaster in May 2019. She has been to two consecutive Cheltenham Festivals, has been Listed and Group 3 placed to go along with her two €100,000 Grade 1 Handicap wins greatly enhancing her value for breeding. 2021 will be her swan song as she heads to the breeding shed but not before one last tilt at the biggest one of them all, the 2021 Aintree Grand National.
